South Suburban to host Easter egg hunts

South Suburban Parks and Recreation will host Easter egg hunts this year at the Family Sports Dome, the Sheridan Recreation Center and Colorado Journey Mini Golf.

The event at Colorado Journey Mini Golf, 5150 S. Windermere Street in Littleton, begins at 7 p.m. April 6 for children ages 4 and younger. A second hunt will be held at 7:30 p.m. for 5- to 8-year-olds, followed by a finale for 9- to 12-year olds at 8 p.m. The recreation district encourages participants to bring a flashlight and a basket for collecting eggs. The entry fee is $2. The mini golf course will be open during the egg hunts at regular prices.

The other two hunts are April 7. Family Sports Dome, 6901 S. Peoria Street in Centennial, also has staggered times for different age groups beginning at 9:30 a.m. for children 3 and younger. Hunts are then offered every 30 minutes for children up to age 12. The sports dome also will have an inflatable obstacle course, and admission is free.

The Sheridan Recreation Center, 3325 W. Oxford Ave., will host a free all-day festival beginning at 1:30 p.m. In addition to an egg hunt for children, the event will feature live music, a photo booth and art and crafts.
