My name is...Joe Schmitt

Doctor at Sozo Chiropractic, loves family time and serving others

About me

I grew up on a farm in a small town in Michigan. I met my wife, Lauren, during college and we have been on a mission ever since we met. We have been married for 12 years. We’ve been blessed with an amazing 8-year-old daughter, Sofia. We opened Sozo Chiropractic in 2014 and it has been an incredible honor to become part of this wonderful community. I love helping and serving people. It is my “why” in life.

Becoming a chiropractor

I didn’t set out to become a chiropractor, but during my second year of college I began experiencing several debilitating health issues. My only options were massive amounts of medications and an invasive spinal surgery, according to several medical specialists. So, I began to explore alternatives on my own. That is when I met my first doctor of chiropractic. Chiropractic care radically improved my life and changed my view of health and healing. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else from that moment forward.

Outside of work

Family time is incredibly important to me and date night is a must. I started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu a little over a year ago and it may be turning into an obsession. It is a very effective way to focus my mind, move my body and it’s humbling. On top of that, we live in a place where people vacation. Our Colorado backyard is pretty remarkable and has a lot to experience. We go out and explore whenever we get the chance.

Living in Castle Rock

My wife and I have lived all over the country, but never really had a place that felt like home. We are blessed and thankful to have found this amazing community. We truly believe Castle Rock is one of the best towns in America! We love the small-town feel, the big city amenities, the downtown vibe, and the wonderful people we’ve connected with over the years.

My mantra

“To give, to love, to serve out of abundance.”
