Writers Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson published an entertaining prequel to the classic children’s book, “Peter Pan and Wendy,” by J.M. Barrie, which, adapted by writer Rick Elise, turned into a charming musical — “Peter and the Starcatchers” — and a series of books. Thespians at Highlands Ranch High School will present “Peter and the Starcatchers” in the school’s theater on Oct. 25, 26 and 27 at 7 p.m.

Peter and the Lost Boys meet Molly, who is a starcatcher, and end up on a ship carrying a mysterious cargo, sailing to an island ruled by the evil King of Hundoon. They encounter Black Stache and others along the way …

Audiences are asked to bring powers of imagination as the production will be done in” poor theatee” style, asking the audience to imagine that a wooden crate is indeed a ship, an island or a crate …

Will Brooks is the director. Tickets will be available at the door, 9375 Cresthill Lane, Highlands Ranch, or at hrhsthespians.com.
