The Arapahoe County Coroner's Office Tuesday identified a 28-year-old who was shot and killed in Littleton this past weekend as Luke Scott Clayton.
Littleton police said they responded to a call in the 2700 block of West Riverwalk Circle at around 3:20 a.m. Saturday and found a man who had been shot in the chest.
Police said they attempted life-saving measures until South Metro Fire Rescue arrived on scene but that Clayton later died from his injuries.
The department said it is looking for two vehicles, a white sedan and a white Honda CRV. Police did not say how the vehicles are connected to the shooting and it is unclear if the suspects and the victim knew each other.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the department at 303-794-1551.
The incident marks the latest in a series of recent shootings and gun-related crime in Littleton and nearby Englewood.
Englewood police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning in the 4900 block of South Lipan Drive. Two adults were reportedly shot and both survived, police said.
On July 4, Englewood police responded to a shooting in a home in the 3600 block of South Sherman Street that resulted in the death of a 21-year-old.
And in Littleton, police reported that a 7-Eleven clerk was held at gunpoint June 18. It came just days after police had arrested a 14-year-old boy for allegedly shooting a woman in the leg at Progress Park and stealing her purse on June 12.
