On April 25, Arbor Day, Lone Tree will be celebrating an educational and rewarding day for all residents.

The annual tree sale, available for Lone Tree residents, must order their trees, $25 each, by April 10, and pick them up during the celebration on April 25.

Stream clean-up at Willow Creek is sponsored by the Lone Tree Public Works department. Volunteers are requested to meet at 8:30 a.m at the Lone Tree Civic Center, and reminded to bring work gloves. The clean-up walk will follow Willow Creek until approximately noon.

Free seminars will be held at the Lone Tree Civic Center starting at 9 a.m.

The first is called “Pet Friendly Landscapes. Elizabeth Bublitz, who owns a landscaping company specializing in this type of landscape will be presenting.

Some of the topics:

How you can prevent your dog from digging gardens and holes, escaping from the yard, killing your grass and eating your sprinklers.

Discover how to work with your dog’s good and bad habits and create a beautiful and practical yard, rather than giving up the dog.

Another seminar, Going Green: Green Energy for the Home and Business will be presented by Wyatt Rogers, from Arapahoe Community College. Renewable energy systems offer opportunities to offset rising energy costs and obtain greater independence in energy sources. Discussions will entail practical applications and methods to develop cost effective solar, wind, geothermal and other renewable systems.

A possible third seminar will educate residents on planting perennial flowers, preparation of the soil, how to combine color, height and texture in flowers and where to purchase nursery stock and tools.
