Construction is complete on the $23 million Lone Tree Arts
Center, and city officials, dignitaries and many residents of the
south metro Denver area will celebrate at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 11 at the
official ribbon cutting ceremony in the arts center’s entrance
plaza at 10075 Commons St. in Lone Tree.
As final planning reaches a climax for the late August and early
September opening events, G. E. Johnson Construction is putting
finishing touches on the arts center’s grand entry hall event and
gallery space; 500-seat main stage theater; the adaptable 150- to
225-seat event theater that opens through a glass wall to a 300- to
350-seat outdoor terrace theater; and the expansive entrance plaza
the construction company donated to the project.
Premiere opening events include the black tie, invitation-only
Grand Opening Gala starring Tony Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell
on Aug. 27 and the arts center’s first public performance on Sept.
9, with Adam and Anthony Live starring the original Broadway stars
of RENT, Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp in concert.
Highlights of the inaugural season include critically acclaimed
New York indy-music trio GrooveLily, The Tartan Terrors, Spencers
Theatre of Illusion and the award-winning Arvada Center, Creede
Repertory Theatre, Opera Colorado and Stories on Stage.
In addition to the Lone Tree Presents season, the arts center
will also be the home of the Lone Tree Hosts series featuring the
Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra. Information and tickets are available
