Sept. 2

Pop-Up Cards. Delight your grandparents with a pop-up card made with a personal sentiment for Grandparent’s Day. Make cards from 10-11 a.m. Sept. 2 at the Lone Tree Recreation Center, 10249 Ridgegate Circle, Lone Tree. Visit www.sspr.org for costs and age requirements.

Sept. 5

Torah Scroll. The Jewish Community of South Metro Denver will celebrate the completion of a brand new hand-written Torah Scroll. This historical event and celebration is at 3 p.m. Sept. 5 at Chabad Jewish Center, 9950 Lone Tree Parkway, Lone Tree. The event is open to the public and will include (in addition to the scribe filling letters and completing the Torah) arts and crafts for kids, souvenirs, and educational opportunities.

Sept. 11

Adult Swim Conditioning is offered will be Mondays and Wednesdays from Sept. 13 through Oct. 6 at Lone Tree Recreation Center, 10249 Ridgegate Circle, Lone Tree. Visit www.sspr.org for costs and age requirements. Improve strength, ability and endurance through individualized training instruction of stroke techniques. Some prior swimming knowledge required.

Sept. 18

Nature and Landscape Photography class is offered from 2-4 p.m. Sept. 18 at Sweetwater Park, 8300-1/2 Sweetwater Road, Lone Tree. Visit www.sspr.org for costs and age requirements. Photograph natural beauty under the direction of an experienced photographer. Bring a familiar digital camera charged and ready to be used.

Take an imaginary trip to an African village. From Anansi the Spider to Uncle Remus, from Egyptian Queens to Nigerian Kings, these tales will delight and teach.
