WinterCheer campaign seeks to promote restaurants, retail

The City of Lone Tree has launched a campaign to support local businesses.

The WinterCheer campaign is a collaboration between the city and Lone Tree businesses, according to a Nov. 25 new release. The city distributed more than 40 dining “igloos” to various restaurants, allowing them to seat patrons outside while indoor dining remains closed under level-red orders handed down by the state.

“These igloos are going to help Lone Tree businesses serve more customers to in the colder weeks ahead,” stated Jeff Holwell, the city's economic development director, in the Nov. 25 release. “The businesses we've delivered to are excited to provide guests with a safe, comfortable, festive and warm solution to enjoy the holidays during the pandemic.”

The city used CARES Act funds to purchase the igloos and distributed them to every business that requested one, Holwell said.

The city's “Seasonal Savings” campaign includes special deals at local restaurants and holiday events at the Lone Tree Arts Center.
