Day of service set for April 4

Posted

Lone Tree will begin holding an annual day of volunteering for Lone Tree residents eager to get involved in the community. The first Lone Tree Day of Service will be April 4.

Five projects around the city will be tackled by a group of volunteers who sign up for the event. The event is still in planning, but a few key project sites have been identified. Schweiger Ranch is one location for the inaugural day of service. The city will also plant several willow trees along the East-West Trail.

The projects will begin at 9 a.m. and run until noon.

Staff suggested other opportunities including visiting a local senior center, improvement work on a local elementary school, trash clean-up, and wildflower seed-planting.
