Aspen Grove, which has had an ongoing policy of welcoming dogs who accompany shoppers, has partnered with Denver Dumb Friends League, Humane Society of the South Platte Valley, Rocky Mountain National Mill Dog Rescue and six additional animal rescue organizations to host the Second Annual Paws and Claws.

The event is a pet adoption marathon from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at Aspen Grove, South Santa Fe Drive and West Mineral Avenue.

Rescue dogs and cats needing help in finding new homes will be available throughout the marathon, which will launch with Runway Rescue at noon, pairing adoptable pets with models showing new fall clothing from Aspen Grove’s retailers. Other pet-themed activities will follow: a Best in Doggy Show contest (for the guest’s pets), disc dog demonstrations, giveaways, prizes, pooch pampering and pet merchandise. a Children’s Dog Friendly Art Contest and more.

Shoppers, pooch-less humans, animal lovers and pets are welcome.
