Something to think about
In the letters to the editor last week, I tend to agree with Mr. Kullas letter regarding the school board candidates. I also think an open-minded approach for all topics is required. I believe there is a need for concerned leadership and, for me, those candidates who are not are part of the "team" fill that need. That is why it is clear for me who my vote will go to as well. I hope there will be more community involvement as the election approaches and more involvement of parents in our schools to oversee what our children are experiencing.
While candidates want to throw more money at mental health, not many seem to be concerned about the books that fill our children's schools filled with violence, horror and witchcraft. Why don't we take a look at the books our children have access to and are reading (or being read to, such as in the third grade at my child's school) and protect their mental health by removing these horrible books from our elementary school libraries? Please contact me for information, candidates, I’ll be happy to discuss.
