Sheriffs association offers scholarship to local student

County Sheriffs of Colorado Inc. will award a $500 scholarship to a deserving Douglas County student next spring. In addition to the $500 scholarships, one recipient will be selected from among the county winners to receive an additional $1,000 Eugene and Becky Battles Scholarship.

According to the Sheriff, Announcements and application packages have been mailed to all high school offices in the county and all Colorado higher education institutions. Applications are also available online at www.csoc.org or at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, 4000 Justice Way, Castle Rock, CO, 80109. Applications should be received by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office by Feb. 28, 2011. Mail them to the sheriff’s office in care of Chief Holly Nicholson-Kluth.
