The Highlands Ranch Metro District’s Ice Cream Social offers cold treats for a good cause

The Metro District’s annual Ice Cream Social is coming up July 11 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Civic Green Park, 9370 S Ridgeline Blvd, Highlands Ranch. Stop by for $2 all-you-can-eat ice cream and snow cones and live music performed by the Highlands Ranch Concert Band and their Swing Shift Band. There will also be food trucks available including Simply Pizza, Mac N Noodles, and Sokare.

Littleton Fire Rescue (LFR) will perform an extrication demonstration using their Jaws of Life equipment. They will also have their smoke trailer, water rescue team, and the station ladder truck on site. South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) will also bring their brush truck and offer information about fire fighting and prevention.

Live entertainment will include:

6:15 p.m. – Entertainer Paul Borrillo performs

6:45 p.m. – Littleton Fire Rescue Jaws of Life demonstration

7:15 p.m. – Swing Shift Jazz Band performs

8:15 p.m. – Highlands Ranch Concert Band performs

The event is sponsored by the Highlands Ranch Metro District, LFR, SMFR, and Safeway, who donated all of the ice cream, toppings and supplies.

All proceeds from the Ice Cream Social will be donated to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Fallen Officer Fund. The purpose of the Fallen Officer Fund is to provide assistance to Douglas County Sheriff’s Office members who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.
